ABOUT THIS ...
There’s nothing more satisfying than helping others reach their fullest potential. Dennis will be stepping on stage in a matter of weeks and has been prepping for a total of 26 weeks. 85KG vs 67KG. Far too often many people try to put a hard deadline on their contest prep— 8, 16, 32 weeks? How long does it really take to get to true stage conditioning? How long does it take to lose ‘x’ amount of body fat? Well, it depends and is going to be heavily dictated by the context of your situation!!! Your starting body comp. IS pretty important if you intend to start a contest prep, or fat loss phase and achieve ‘x’ goal in a specific timeframe. The shorter the timeframe, the more aggressive the approach will be, the less time you’ll have for incorporating things like diet breaks, or refeeds. On the other side of the coin, the longer the timeframe, the less you stress/worry, and you’ll be in a better position to take a more ‘optimal’ approach. IMO if you have more body fat to lose, a longer approach might be ideal for your situation. You also have to account for individual differences as you don’t know how your body is going to respond to said protocols or specific adjustments!! You can calculate an ‘optimal’ rate of loss, do everything in your power to chase that, but you also have to account for the weeks where you don’t average a loss. There are times where the ‘optimal’ plan has worked in my favor, and there have been times where I’ve had to disregard what I know and put my head down work. YOUR contest prep, or fat loss phase should be as long as necessary to achieve whatever goal you set out for yourself. There are benefits to a deadline, and utilizing an open-ended approach, both are effective, but it all depends on the individual and the context of their situation. REGARDLESS THE APPROACH, you will be challenged! Especially if you're trying to achieve something you haven't before. Big props to Dennis for putting in the work and getting shit done. It's been an honor to play a role in your journey and I can't wait to see you crush it on stage!
